Panoxyl
contains a medicine called Benzoyl Peroxide
Panoxyl
is used to treat acne (spots)
Benzoyl
Peroxide works by :
* Killing
bacteria on your skin
* Having
a peeling effect that makes your skin less greasy
Do
not use Panoxyl if :
You
are allergic to Benzoyl Peroxide or any of the other ingredients
Do
not use if the above applies to you, If
you are not sure, ask your pharmacist or doctor before you use this medicine.
Using
other medicines
Please
tell your pharmacist or doctor if you are using or have recently used any other
medicines. This includes medicines you
get without a prescription, such as herbal medicines.
Pregnancy
and Breast-feeding
Ask
your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using any medicine, if you are
pregnant or breast-feeding.
What
else you need to know when applying Panoxyl
Only
use Panoxyl on your skin. Keep it away
from areas like your eyes and lips
Take
care if applying Panoxyl to the neck or other sensitive areas
Try
not to let Panoxyl come into contact with coloured fabrics, including clothing,
towels and bed linen. Panoxyl can bleach
these materials
If
you forget to use Panoxyl
Do
not use a double dose to make up for forgotten doses
Apply
the next dose at the usual time
Possible
side effects
Like
all medicines, Panoxyl can cause side effects, although not everybody gets
them. The following side effects may
happen with this medicine :
Stop
using Panoxyl and see a doctor straight away if :
You
suffer severe burning, peeting or itching of your skin
Other
side effects include :
Slight
stinging and your skin feeling warm, especially when it is first applied
Flaking
and redness of your skin during the first few weeks of use. If this troubles you, try using the product
less often for a while, or stop for a few days then start again.
If
any of the side effects get serious, last longer than a few days or if you
notice any side effects not listed, please tell your doctor or pharmacist.
How
to store Panoxyl
Keep
out of the reach and sight of children
Panoxyl
should be stored before 25°C
Do
not use after the Expiry Date
Medicines
should not be disposed of via wastewater or household waste. Ask your
pharmacist how to dispose of medicines no longer required. These measures will help to protect the
environment.
