Paracetamol Tablets - Easy to Swallow, fast effective pain relief
What is this medicine for?
Paracetamol tablets are recommended for the treatment of headache (including migraine), toothache,
neuralgia, backache, pain caused by rheumatism and period pains. They are also effective at lowering
high temperatures, and in the relief of the symptoms of colds, flu and sore throats.
What does Paracetamol Do?
Paracetamol is a painkiller and helps to reduce body temperature when you have a fever.
Before taking this Medicine :
You should not take these tablets if you are allergic to paracetamol or any of the ingredients listed.
Special care is needed (check with your doctor) if you have severe kidney or liver problems.
If taken with some other medicines the effects of paracetamol or the effects of the other medicines may
be changed. Please check with your doctor if you are taking Metoclopramide or Domperidone (used
to treat nausea, vomiting and other stomach problems), or Cholestryramine (used to treat high blood
lipid (fat) levels).
If you are taking the anti-coagulants (drugs to thin your blood e.g. warfarin) you may take the occasional
dose of paracetamol but if you need a painkiller on a daily basis you should speak to your doctor.
IMPORTANT: DO NOT TAKE OTHER MEDICINES CONTAINING PARACETAMOL WHILST TAKING
THESE TABLETS.
Paracetamol crosses the placenta. There is no known hazard dosage, but like all non-essential
medications paracetamol should be avoided especially during the first trimester unless considered
essential by the physician.
Paracetamol will enter breast milk. No evidence has been shown that this is harmful to the infant.
Whilst taking this medicine :
Paracetamol rarely causes any problems, but allergic reactions such as skin rash occasionally occur.
There have been a few reports of blood problems which can lead to easy bruising of the skin or
bleeding of the gums but these will not necessarily be due to paracetamol. If you experience these or
any other unusual effects you should tell your doctor as soon as possible.
